The Public Library Innovation Exchange (PLIX) brings together public librarians and MIT Media Lab researchers to co-design creative learning experiences for libraries. Come try out these activities and leave with the tools and resources you need to put them into practice with your community!
We’ll start with a brief overview of PLIX, then jump into hands-on workshops where participants can try out activities designed by Media Lab-public library collaborators. The activities will cover topics including data literacy, Scratch extensions, food computers, early literacy apps, and outer space exploration. You’ll get the chance to try several activities and scope out exactly what you’ll need to start a program in your library.
We expect participants to leave with tangible implementation resources, ideas for modifications that better engage their local communities, and connections to other librarians and Media Lab researchers who are working on these projects. We hope to see you there!
