2018 / Designing the Future: Using Sketching and Storytelling to Craft a Strategic Plan

Members: 6
Latest Activity: Sep 8, 2018

Description

Strategic Planning can seem obligatory, unnecessarily complicated and when completed, something to check off the executives "to do" list and put on the shelf until next time. Yet when done well, it can serve to align the entire organization around the meeting the goals of the community, getting the staff, governing bodies and community partners engaged and excited about the future of the library.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will:

  • Explore ways to engage stakeholders on framing the problems and opportunities that the community wants to solve.
  • Practice using drawing and storytelling to shape broad goals and design services for your libraries users.
  • Learn ways to get the entire staff involved in the strategic plan process.

Organizer
Melanie Huggins, Executive Director, Richland Library, Columbia, USA

Date
Friday, 14 September, 11:00 am
