description

The workshop will kick off with a 15-20 min pecha kucha presentation, which discusses a different angle of transformation based on four case studies from our recent portfolio:

• State Library Victoria (the library as a studio for creative people, staff perspectives)

• Christchurch Central Library (community building, political role of public libraries, placemaking)

• Gellerup Sports and Culture Centre (partnerships and collaborations, designing social innovation in libraries, healthcare).

The majority of the workshop (approx. 70 minutes) will be devoted to several workshop exercises on transformation where participants will be asked to work in groups on different transformation themes. Visual aids (drawings, images, cards) will be provided by us.

We want the users to come away inspired by ideas for transformation in all scales and dimensions, spatially and organizationally and with concrete tools/methodologies they can apply to their own work in their own libraries. We will draw upon our experience working with different library organizations, staff and communities and share our lessons learned with the users as a summary.
