Dear Daniela,

Participatory methodology was something new for me, and I've learned  a lot. Right now me and my colleagues are working on project for new branch library in Ljubljana and I will try to include local people and institutions by using participatory methodology.

We, from Instituto de Políticas Relacionais in Brazil, would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for attending our Listening to Create session (www.nextlibrary.net/group/2017-listening-to-create) and for being with us at the 2017 Next Library.

The practices presented at the workshop were a partnership between librarian Cleide Fernardes, from Minas Gerais’ State Secretary of Culture, Caravan Studios, from San Francisco (CA) and Instituto de Políticas Relacionais. We all believe participatory methodology is the best tool to engage communities, map-out social issues and find viable and creative solutions.

We had already worked with Cleide at Belo Horizonte’s public library and with Caravan Studios on the “Made at the Library” project (http://www.feitonabiblioteca.org/english) that used app technology to connect people and solve local problems.

In that sense, our organization, developed project Tô na Rede: an initiative that aims to engage libraries and their local communities through the use of participatory methodology and Information and Communication Technologies, so they are able to meet the communities’ information demands and became a place of encounters.
