Für die deutsche Version bitte hier weiterlesen.

Registration for the Berlin event is now closed! The tickets for the conference are sold out.

There might be some last remaining tickets later on. Please stay tuned to the News section.

Meanwhile take a look at the list of participants. (If you have registered but do not find your name on the list, it is probably due to the fact that you did not opt in to have your data shared this way.)

The conference will take place in front of the Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek (Blücherplatz) in Berlin Kreuzberg between the late afternoon of September 12 and noon of September 15, 2018.

Full ticket price: 250 EUR (access to the conference from 12 – 15 September incl. Get2gether on 12 September). Some site visits ("Alternative Tours") are not included. Additional (payment) fees apply.

Important Note

The weekend following the Next Library® Conference Berlin 2018 (15 & 16 September) coincides with the Berlin Marathon. The hotel situation is accordingly difficult. We recommend early bookings. Some pre-reserved hotels are listed during the registration process, for more options, you may have a look here or a booking site of your choice.

Here you can find some useful information for your stay in Berlin.

The BI-International (Bibliothek & Information International) offers financial support for international participants to attend conferences in Germany. A precondition for receiving a grant is the participant’s profession in the field of librarianship. For more information see here.

Support letters for obtaining visa or funds

Please check here (or with your local authorities) whether you need a visa to enter Germany or not.

Visa support letters and letters to use for funding support applications in your home countries can be requested from the Berlin office.

Invitation letters will be sent upon request only. The conference organisers will be pleased to send a formal letter of invitation to delegates requesting an invitation letter for visa purposes. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from the conference organisers to provide any financial support. The organisers may ask for reference letters from people asking for formal letters of invitation at their discretion. Letters will be sent electronically.

The organisors can not guarantee that tickets to the conference will still be available once the funding is secured or the visa obtained. Obtaining a Schengen Visa might take a few months, therefore it is recommended that you register as soon as the registration opens and apply for your visa.
