Jennifer Velásquez is a lecturer in the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University (California, U.S.) and serves as Coordinator of Teen Services for the San Antonio Public Library System (Texas) the seventh largest city in the United States. In 2011, Jennifer was recognized by Library Journal as a "Mover & Shaker" in the area of innovation. The New York Times recognized her work in teen library services when she was a recipient of the New York Times Librarian Award in 2005. She is currently writing a title for ALA Editions on the fundamentals of library services for teens aged 13 to 18. Jennifer received her MLS from Rutgers University (New Jersey, U.S.).
