Talking with many library users I have recognised that they use library services not only for their various everday purposes, but also as a place with strong symbolic meaning in their lives. As open spaces to everybody - from newbors babiest to the oldest, public libraries have potential to support cohesion, inclusion and integration in local community. It is up to the librarians to develop this advantage. It could be a platform for strengthen position of public libraries in society.
