Session

In this interactive session, we’ll use Solarpunk, a science fiction subgenre that envisions sustainable futures, to inspire creativity and collective action. Participants will design a vision for a future library that thrives in an environmentally sustainable world.

Through scenario-building exercises, small groups will create library services, spaces, and programs that reflect the core Solarpunk values: community-driven, inclusive, and green. Participants will brainstorm solutions for challenges like climate change and community engagement, while exploring how libraries can lead sustainable living and social cohesion.

The session will inspire actionable ideas for future-proof libraries and demonstrate how science fiction can drive futures thinking.
