Ignite Talk

The project Libraries as Think Tanks enables public libraries in southern Sweden to explore new ways to promote democracy in their communities. Through local initiatives, many libraries have tested methods to strengthen freedom of speech, civic dialogue, and digital literacy, particularly for minority groups. The project provides tools and strategies to enhance libraries’ role as key actors in providing safe and democratic arenas for local and civic engagement.

Engella has been working as a Library Development Officer for the past three years, focusing on the role of libraries in promoting democracy. Engella represents Region Halland (Sweden) in the working group for the Libraries as Think Tanks project.
