Ignite Talk

In an era of polarization, libraries are stepping up to foster understanding, dialogue, and empathy. Starting Fall 2025, libraries in Albertslund, Roskilde, and Aarhus are partnering with the Human Library Organization® to offer a unique opportunity to borrow human books: real people with diverse, often marginalized experiences that volunteer to share their story and be read as an open book. Use your library to engage in conversations and challenge biases—all from your device.

Host

Sigrid Bredkjær
Sigrid is a Project Coordinator for three Danish libraries in a new partnership with the Human Library Organization® (HLO). Supported by the Velux Foundation, HLO is introducing an online platform for dialogues with human books in the public libraries.
