The £35m new City Library will open in Autumn 2025. As the National Centre for Creative Smart Cities, Culture House Sunderland will redefine the space libraries inhabit within contemporary society by transforming perceptions of what a library is and can be within the hearts and minds of our communities. 

By embracing a model that values cultural and technological enrichment, Culture House Sunderland is setting a new standard for libraries in the UK and ensuring they remain relevant and essential in the digital age.
