Ignite Talk

The Democracy Conversations series: the rhetoric of democracy in the classroom.

Anti-democracy rhetoric is pervasive in the US. The Democracy Conversation series offers community college faculty opportunities to learn how white nationalism, hate speech, and mis/disinformation intersect with campus culture and student learning. The project highlights that democratic values do not simply reside “out there” in the political arena but are fundamental to a learning environment.
